Stats:
Weight: 182.0
Fasting BG: 148
That 148 is the highest my blood sugar has been today. Last night when I went to bed, my BG was 132, so I skipped my 2mg of Amaryl. Normal fasting tends to be over 200, so that was a victory. Even when my meds seem to be working the way they are supposed to be, the best I've checked my fasting levels was in the 160s. The only explanation I could get for it was the overnight dump of glucose into the blood by the liver. As my endo put it, your liver throws extra glucose into your system to jump start your system and wake you up in the morning.
Breakfast has been standard this week. I sauté onions and some chopped turkey bacon (and ham on some days) in a little butter then add in a power green mix (spinach plus...). I let the greens wilt then throw on some shredded cheese and let it melt. This is served with a little avocado. It's awesome. Can't say I'd eat it every day, but I am thoroughly enjoying this breakfast.
Today, I had one of those steamer bags of broccoli and some leftover grilled link sausage. I've munched on a handful of roasted nuts for a snack, drank water other than 1 can of Diet Coke (which, I have to limit diet drinks due to an allergy to NutraSweet) and a glass of unsweetened iced tea.
Yesterday, I went to Chick-fil-a for lunch and had their market salad and water. Dinner was Chicken Milano with spaghetti squash and green beans.
Tonight, moussaka. It's kind of like a Greek lasagna; however, it has a béchamel sauce on it. Mine will not, but what I've fixed for the rest of the family does. (Hopefully, mine still tastes decent.)
